It is a simple task for young children to explore nature through art. Through this activity, teacher could talk about the size, colour, line texture of different types of leaves while painting the leaves. In addition, children are introduced the plant species in the group discussion. This could help children to learn to express their ideas in sustained share conversation and enrich their knowledge about art as well as the environment learning which is an important learning focus structured in Victorian Curriculum(Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority,2006).
